Have you changed your thermostat's batteries?🔋

I wanted to make a post to address thermostat batteries. Many of the calls we get about customers without heat are fixed by doing the following:

What happens if a thermostat’s battery dies?

A thermostat needs batteries for it to function. Even hardwired thermostats require backup batteries. You will not be able to operate the thermostat if the batteries are dead. Your heat may even stop working.

In order to save yourself the trouble of waking up to a cold home, replace them ahead of time!

Most thermostats have a low battery indicator that will be displayed on the LED screen that displays the temperature. The thermostat may also start beeping when the batteries are low. Alternatively, the screen may become blank making it impossible for you to adjust the thermostat. The symptoms vary depending on the thermostat brand.
